Welcome to the first of many Anime Attacks bulletins. With this newsletter, we will be sharing news, views and facts from the world of the weebs. Strap in for this wild ride as we dive into topics such as anime, video games and cosplay!

To be more involved with the local community that enjoy the same things we do. Our goal is to bring anime fans together within Gateshead and Newcastle.

Recipe
Here is our favourite Ice Cream Mochi recipe, you can get the ingredients on amazon or hopefully your local supermarket!
You’ll need:
240ml of Water
50 grams Sugar
120 grams Sweet Rice Flour - Mochiko
Cornstarch for dusting, so the sticky mochi won’t stick to work surface
Flavouring; you could use 1 Tsp Green Tea powder or vanilla essence or experiment with some other flavours!
Instructions:
Mix up the Water, Sugar, and flour (and flavouring ) in microwave safe bowl
Cover it with clingfilm etc and Microwave on high 800watts for 3 minutes
Stir and check consistency, it should be sticky and form a single piece of stretchy rubbery dough
continue to microwave on high for 30 second bursts until its at your desired consistency
Let it cool as it’ll be very hot when it comes out of the microwave and then spread cornstarch onto work surface or board - a few minutes cooling time should be enough but be careful!
Spoon out mochi dough onto work surface/board and flatten until its the thickness you want. Should be about 6mm or slightly thicker.
Slice into 8 even squares and allow to cool and then fill up with ice cream to make a mochi parcel. You could also put custard, strawberries or any other fresh fruit!

Japan has the World’s Deepest Underwater Postbox!
The deepest underwater postbox is located in Susami, which is a famous fishing town in Wakayama Prefecture and was recorded by Guinness World Records in 2002. The postbox is located 30 feet underwater and since 1999 has collected more than 32,000 pieces of mail.
